New York Chapter Co-Sponsored Event

logo-smallThe New York Chapter of the Association for Gravestone Studies invites you to the NYC Parks' UnCommon Ground lecture series this spring, entitled "Urban Cemeteries as Historic Landscapes, Part II: Design, Topography/Geology and Stewardship." The subject of urban cemeteries, both private and public, will be explored with a view toward greater understanding, appreciation and stewardship of these evocative landscapes. The series consists of three lectures which will take place on February 11, March 11 and April 3, 2014.

The NY Chapter of AGS is pleased to co-sponsor the second lecture in the series, entitled "From Below the Ground \ / Up / \: A Geologist's Reading of Urban Cemeteries in NYC." The speaker, Sidney Horenstein, is Geologist Emeritus at the American Museum of Natural History, NYC. The event will take place on March 11, 2014 at 6:00 p.m.
